There's an "o" setting that allows the leaf shutter to be cocked
(therefore open) but prevents it from tripping. In high speed synch mode
(at speeds from 1/60 to 1/500), the shutter remains open until the focal
plane shutter opens. It then closes at the appropriate time after the
focal plane shutter is open. It works, and it's less prone to failure
than the true leaf shutter of the 90/1.8. However, it doesn't give you
the vibration free operation of the true leaf shutter. Of course, it's
mainly intended for use at high shutter speeds, where vibration is not a factor.
