How long are you in the Bay Area for? What is your schedule like?
My plan was to get to Yosemite as quickly as possible, to have at least a
chance of traveling the Tioga Pass. Another part of the plan is to spend
some time West of the Sierras on the way back. I would love to visit one of
the places they feed the wintering sandhill cranes, and if there's time to
go out to the coast and look for the sea lions as well.
There isn't a very tight schedule, because I know I'll be distracted by
stuff along the way. And by unforeseen events. When I reached Sonora this
afternoon, I was informed that both hwy 120 and hwy 108 is closed due to an
early snowfall, so I will not be able to drive through Yosemite to cross the
Sierras.
Smooth flight, but stiff muscles.
Next time, try taking a plane.
Plain silly. :-)
