Yikes; not good! That sounds like a firmware bug or a static induced glitch. Was the air in the venue really dry do you think? Very good thing you had your backup body.
I sure hope it's not a bug in the latest firmware. I haven't use mine for much since updating it; just a little in-office "product" shooting. But it has been fine in all respects.
