Oops - I misread your post.  Sorry, Gaurav.

However, my basic premise may still be valid.  I think that you
might be better off getting an ME Super (a really nice body, and
quite inexpensive nowadays) and another 50mm normal lens (perhaps an
M lens), as opposed to fishing around for a body that will "enable"
your defective A 50/1.7 to limp along in shutter-priority mode or in
program mode.  (I must admit that my opinion on this may be affected
by the fact that I do 75% of my shooting using aperture-priority
mode, while the other 25% is done in manual exposure mode, both of
which require using aperture rings - <g>.)
