A problem I found was that when I clicked to open one of the thumbnails, I was then stuck with no way to get back to the thumbnail view - no navigation arrows were visible.
A bit of investigation revealed that if I clicked the opened image, the thumbnails and navigation arrows re-appeared (I'm on Windows 7 & Firefox). This wasn't intuitive to me.
