Well, there's still Snap-On Tools

By who? I've never seen them any place but in garages.

I don't think I've ever seen a Pirelli calendar in the flesh. Over the
years I've seen countless calendars of conventionally pretty girls
holding tools in such a manner that it's obvious that nobody involved in
the photo has even an inkling of a clue about car repair. Something I
consider rather disappointing because I think women who know how to
wrench are extra sexy.

The Pirelli calendar has long been a "fine art" version of the pinup
calendar emphasizing art rather than bimbotude.

Perhaps they're venturing into something other than tires - snark, snark

Like the poster I have for Dunlop motorcycle tires:

If you've got the leather, we've got the rubber.

I agree with Marco.

The Pirelli calendar is a piece of marcom collateral that serves the
dual function of promoting Pirelli (not necessarily their tires) as a
company that supports the development of art and the humanities as
well as provides a venue for photographers to exhibit their works.
They have focused on fashion and nudes for most of their history, last
year and this year mark an interesting departure as they reach into a
broader domain of photographic imagery. The calendars are instantly
collectible works.

Frankly, I doubt that many "car people" are even interested.

You have to ask yourself what are they trying to do.... Promote their
tires, sell calendars or cater to older women.

The photos are obviously well done but I bet they don't sell as many
calendars as in years past - a lot of non car people have never
seen/heard of the Pirelli calendar.

Couldn’t disagree more.

Sorry but the new calendar just doesn't cut it for me.
I much prefer the earlier editions of the calendar.
Its like Pirelli is asking me to like a bald worn out tire instead
of one of their new super sticky P-Zeros.
I think they've lost their direction with this edition.

Peter Lindbergh shot this years Pirelli Calendar without using
makeup or retouching.
