Thanks for the comments Bob. You expressed much of what I was feeling when I saw these photos, but with much more targeted critique than I could have done.
My initial thought was that this collection were nice enough photos, and that every one was familiar to me. I think some are familiar because I have seen those scenes through the eyes of other photographers, others are familiar because they show a place I know. Yes, cliche, but a nicely done collection of cliches. stan > On Mar 11, 2017, at 3:00 AM, Bob W-PDML <p...@web-options.com> wrote: > > >> On 11 Mar 2017, at 04:39, steve harley <p...@paper-ape.com> wrote: >> >> On Thu, Mar 9, 2017, at 20:46, Stanley Halpin wrote: >> >>>> Night-time in America's small towns >> >>>> <http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-39040237> >> >>>> Photographer Daniel Freeman's nocturnal journey around the United >>>> States. >> >> >> these are nicely done; what interests me most is trying to put myself in >> the head of Brits trying to imagine the US through these pictures > > The copy says he's following in the footsteps of Shore, Eggleston and Frank, > but they all showed the USA in a way that hadn't really been seen before.
