My Mamiya 1000TL died about then. I had been shooting with it for years and had acquired four M42 lenses. So I went to buy a Spotmatic only to find my camera store had only the new Pentax K cameras. If the counter guy had explained the screw mount adapter I probably would have gone for a Pentax K. But he didn't, so I bought a Fuji 801 M42 camera. Good technology and I probably shot over 100,000 frames with it over ten years or so and made quite a bit of money. Finally got my Pentaxes used in the late '80s. First an H3v, then a bunch of Spotmatics and Spotmatic Fs. I made up for lost time. Even had an all black Spotmatic motor drive. Sold that beauty for big bucks to a guy in Japan but still have my other M42 Pentax cameras. No Ks, but an LX and an MX.
