I went so far as to have a paid 500px account for one year and I thought it was pretty good. Then.
But I dislike it a lot now, and have abandoned ship. Haven't posted there in many years. They have made changes since then, but afaict it's still a pale imitation of Flickr for features (eg groups, galleries), and the voting system is this crazy popularity thing that encourages HDR'ed landscapes, 3D wildlife, and macros-with-massive-bokeh. Everything looks the same. To be fair, that it-all-devolves-to-uniform-sameness issue afflicts all the popularity based social media sites, I guess. Like Instagram.
