I live in a detached house and as luck would have it, I have a new, young
neighbor on the side where the living room is (where the stereo will be rattling
the windows if I ever get it back into operation).
I had previously asked her to let me know if I was playing my electric guitar
was too loud late at night and she said she hadn't heard me & no, it hadn't
bothered her..
She wears hospital scrubs to work & one day as I was coming in from a radiation
session at the VA, she was getting out of her car. We talked for a minute and I
commented on her wearing a "film badge".
It's not a "film badge" - turned out to be a microphone and transmitter for her
"hearing aids". Turns out she's profoundly deaf, so no problems there.
None of the other neighbors are likely to have problems. They sometimes have
fairly loud parties and I don't complain about them, so I don't expect them to
complain about me.

I live in a row house. The neighbors would object to floor-shaking.
So, I have my EPI 100 speakers (bought in 1974; woofers replaced
1995), a good Yamaha receiver, a Pioneer turntable and about 300 LPs,
a 20-year old Denon CD player, and lots of CDs, almost all classical.
My spouse doesn't like sitting and listening to recorded music (though
concerts are fine), so I also have good Sennheiser headphones.
I'm happy.

I just need some POWER! My current speaker setup only puts out about 50
watts. It's not enough to rattle the windows & shake the floors.

Lately all of my music is played through the computer. I'm in a mood this
morning and there's a song just came up in my playlist, but I couldn't
get
it turned up loud enough.
I miss my real stereo.
