Fernando - ooops - I think you meant to say "translucent"  glass , yes?  <g>

Anyway - I made one for myself with two fluorescents - the skinny under the
kitchen cabinet kind.
Left one side hinged to reach in side to turn the lights off and on.  I set a
black masking device
on top of the "glass" to keep the glare off.  That is, one of those carboard
display things with
square openings to display slides. used milky lucite 1/4" thick for the glass.
it was a sloppy looking thing
but it worked fine.
