Nice photos. Thanks. We recently had to translate a bill of quantities for a building project in Luxemburg, written in French. It mentioned a 'cour anglaise', an English courtyard. Took us a while to find out what was meant - the small front yard below street level that you show on your photo - and another hour to find that there appears to be no German term for this, for the simple reason that we don't have them here.
