We recently had to translate a bill of quantities for a building project
in Luxemburg, written in French. It mentioned a 'cour anglaise', an
English courtyard. Took us a while to find out what was meant - the
small front yard below street level that you show on your photo - and
another hour to find that there appears to be no German term for this,
for the simple reason that we don't have them here. We had to paraphrase
it.

How do you call them?
