Thanks Dan. Astrotracer really seems to help. I seem to get better results using astrotracer at 10 seconds than no astrotracer at shorter periods. Actually, looking through the 200/2.8 really seems to help see it, it’s very hard to see with the naked eye, but pops out in photos. The sky is bright enough that being in town doesn’t make as much difference as one might think, the important thing is to have a low horizon and no clouds. I need to also experiment with bracketing my exposure to get a clearer shot of details.
