It's here!
See http://panix.com/~johnf/temp/NewestToy.jpg That's a 40-150 on the OM-D, and the 60-250 on the K5, which is about as close a comparison setup as I can get. The Olympus rig is only a little lighter than the Pentax; while the lens is significantly lighter (even though it's f2.8, not f4), the OM-D body is actually quite a bit heavier than the K5. (The K3 is heaver than the K5, too, but still significantly lighter than the OM-D M1X, even with a grip). I haven't seen any results from it yet - it was dark by the time the batteries were charged and I'd done the initial setup (the user manual is almost 700 pages, and they don't even supply you with a printed copy!). One thing I am going to miss, though, is Hyper Program mode. But the body is covered with a myriad buttons, most of which can be programmed; there may be a way for me to set one up to toggle between shutter priority and program mode, which is what I mostly used Hyper Program for. -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
