My boss isn't back from lunch yet, so I did a bit of google fu and found
this pretty good writeup. The key is that in the C menus there's an item
called "use aperture ring".

It's a very basic K-mount - I'm guessing a T-mount with a K adapter.
Mounted easily on the K-1, but showing "F--" so I guess I'm going to
actually have to RTFM to figure out how to tell the camera what I want
it to do.
With a quick perusal I didn't see anything about U1, U2, U3 ..., but I
think I did find how you set the shutter speed when using a non-A lens
More homework I guess.
