Stan, this may or may not work. Mike Wilson has suggested a weekend up at Kielder Water, a beautiful setting in the north east of England, heading on up towards the Scottish border. I can't remember the date we had suggested, I think it was the weekend of the 19th/20th Oct. I've emailed Mike to see if we can change it to 12/13 to fit you in, but he's in Poland (I think) so we may have to wait a few days to find out. He may already have booked it (they have 'chalets' accomodation). Effectively it's a train trip from London up the east coast main line, I don't know costs, but it's a good 5 hour journey I would have thought. We could organise transport from the station... I'll keep yopu appraised.
