This is my only gripe with my wife's ZX-L. The Auto Picture mode works fine, except that if the AF mode is set to wide, it automatically focuses on the closest object and the body selects the mode based on this "decision". I've since changed the AF mode to spot, and the Picture mode to "Smiley Face" and taught her how to focus, then recompose. Later on I hope to convince her to try aperture priority, or, with a longish tele, shutter priority. Bill - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
