You all sound like you need a bit of hardening up. I often carry 5kg of Manfrotto around the forest in addition to cameras and lenses. Sometimes a rifle too, depends on where I'm going. We've had trouble with bears in this part of the country. A jogger was killed not so long ago by a female bear who thought he was interfering with her cub.
