The meeting was cool, especially hearing about GIT as a filesystem. It's an "obvious" solution, when you think about it, which just goes to show Linus' genius. (Spotting the obvious is actually very hard. It only becomes "obvious" once it -has- been spotted.)
What I heard was that there were also different kernel developer camps, and that communication between those camps wasn't what it could be. Particularly between the networking folk and everyone else. I'd also never heard there was quite so much antipathy towards OSDL. If the bitkeeper talk was on the money, then they have some serious explaining to do.
