Just to show I am not always funny, and for the benefit of newcomers, the issue was *never* about having two LUGs in the same town. There were more than two well before PDXLUG appeared. It has *always* been about PDXLUG's use of the words "Portland Linux User Group" which were already in use by PLUG. And while I've never characterized the confusion as "great", it does seem persistent. I try to take note of it when I find it. Some others try to ignore or actively misrepresent it.
http://www.pdxlinux.org does not have the phrase "Portland Linux User Group" anywhere, only "Portland Linux/Unix Group" or PLUG.
The name was changed, you can't also call it "Portland Linux User Group" too. Pick one or the other.
It's not like anyone in PDXLUG tries to intentionally confuse or mislead newcomers that we are PLUG. That has never happened and I doubt ever will. I would venture to say that most PDXLUGers would rather not be associated at all, anyway.
