Having said that, if the creator of the PDF file set the permissions to prohibit copying, then forget it. None of the Linux PDF viewers can help. However, you *can* open the PDF in certain other apps, save as a raster image, then OCR the raster image. That will get you at least the text, although the results will be far from perfect and formatting will be mostly lost.
