The same thing happen to me too that i feel that Protel ways of doing
things is illogical and confusing to the point that i have to go back
to OrCAD and finish up the job via Protel's save in order to please my
fab house as they are not able to open other files other than Protel
.pcb format.

Subject: [PEDA] DXP (AD) libraries
Speaking of DXP libraries, I had a bit of a play with DXP some time ago
and
the first thing to irritate me was its integrated libraries.
Firstly, once having added one of these "you beaut" libs and inevitably
you
had to modify a component, the rigmarole of having to "decompile",
modify,
recompile and re-add was enough to want to frisbee the LCD monitor
through
the window.
Secondly why on earth have they grouped components by manufacturer?
This is
a fair enough call for "Specialized" components such as cpu's fpga's
etc,
but seriously if you want ua741 in an 8 pin soic with a simulation
model,
wouldn't it be more logical to have a lib called OPAMP_SIMS rather than
having to wade through dozens of libraries installed in a project just
to
get similar components
After all that, having finally put together a simple cct that simulates
correctly you add another schematic to the project to create the actual
pcb
schematic and find that the darn thing keeps wanting to make a PCB out
of
the sim. So you are left with 2 choices, create another project or
destroy
the simulation schematic. You end up with a plethora of directories,
projects and a cumbersome workspace. It all seems so messy.
