Brad,
When you come upon issues like this that are particular to a specific
layout, I will commonly tweak or adjust the silkscreen outline right in the
particular PCB design.
The steps to do that are:
1) Unlock the primitives of the footprint(s) involved. Through the
checkbox in the part properties.
2) Tweak/move/drag/delete your silkscreen outline as desired.
3) Most important: don't forget to lock the primitives again when you are
finished.

Not the most elegant solutions but it is simple and it works.
While you have the footprint primitives unlocked, be very careful not to move
anything that you didn't want moved within the footprint (i.e. pads or other
critical features).

Subject: [PEDA] SILKSCREEN Overlay.

I have a PCB component footprint that includes information on the overlay
layer.

On a particular component I do not want the overlay layer to show because it
overlaps a solder pad on another component.

Can the overlay layer be selectively turned on and off a footprint or must
new footprints be created with various degrees of overlay information?

Brad.
