Hi Kathy - if you give the pads on the switch, you want to be tied
together, the same numbers (ie two pin 1's) you can route them together.
The software doesn't know how many pin 1's or pin 2's etc. there should be
on a part.

Subject
[PEDA] FootPrints with common pins

Hi all,

I know I am asking a lot of questions, but this is the first "real
design" where I can not do hacks like we do for personal stuff and cosy
clients (the ones we know from going down the pub with etc)

OK I have a push button on a PCB,it has 4 pins, there are 2 sets of 2
pins connected internally. I want a track to connect the pins so that I
can use either side of the part to route, (also some suppliers of this
part only provide non linked switches, where the active pins may be
diagonal or vertical).

Now when I place the track in the library, it comes up on the PCB as a
violation, I have gone to the netlist manager and told it to update free
primitives from component pads, but this does not seem to do the trick :(

I am not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions ?
