Christian,
I believe I know what has been plaguing you with this component. Check
under "O"ptions, "P"references, "Defaults" Tab & Component. What side do you
have set for the component to be placed upon by default?

I am betting it is currently set to the bottom side. In this case each
and every component you try to manually place in the design, will be placed
upon the bottom side of your board.

Sorry I didn't supply an answer sooner, been sick most of this week,
just read your first message an hour ago.

Sincerely,

Subject: Re: [PEDA] P99SE "Place label here" pcb component

Hello!

I've got news: I followed aj's suggestion and draw my
'place-label-here-rectangular' in top-overlay layer.
Unfortunately with the same result: Protel is throwing it onto the bottom layer
(fonts mirrored).

But I tried another thing: I created a schematic-symbol, linked it to my
pcb-footprint and made an pcb-update.

Et voilĂ : The 'place-label-here-rectangular' is on the top layer.

Slowly I drown in self-doubts... . I can't get, why protel does so.
Anyway: I can accept this 'schematic-symbol-solution'.

Thanks a million for all suggestions!

Christian
