We haven't upgraded to Designer 6 as of yet (still using 2004). I have
never had much luck with simulations in Protel / Altium. It was always
difficult to de-bug the simulations. There was little feedback from the
program and not enough information in the documentation.

We use MicroCap (Spectrum Software - sells for $4,500.00 US) for our
analog simulations. It has been around along time. It works pretty
well and I have had pretty good luck using vendor supplied models.

We also use vendor supplied programs (i.e. Linear's Switcher CAD, etc.).

Subject: Re: [PEDA] Simulation tools

Hello Group,
Does anyone have any honest input on how good the simulation tools are
in Altium Designer 6? What 3rd party tools is everyone using?
thanks,
