He thought that latter was technologically & psychologically ready to enter *mass consumption* society but that political state investment in military & heavy industry would be obstacle. Guess some would say fact that SU no longer exists proves his prediction that *evolution* towards mass consumption could not be held up indefinitely. Michael Hoover
