It was always rendered Tianenman here at the time. I still remember those poor young folk singing The Internationale to absolutely no effect: Beijing and Washington both treating them as counter-revolutionary aspiring cappos - and neither allowing for the possibility that their call for democracy might be for something represented by neither ... a lot of dying in vain, alas.
