By "they" you are referring to "capitalism and
imperialism," right? If so, I agree; perhaps, the word
"and" was misleading, but I used "the chain" in
the singular form.
I was thinking of the fact that the power elite don't everywhere
have the same quality and quantity of, and more importantly command
over the loyalty of, armed forces; the same economic conditions; the
same degree of ideological hegemony; etc.
