Although I have not read any helpful articles about the "revolution" in
Romania -- I can relate anecdotal evidence from Romanians both in and
out of the country that what James says below is absolutely true.  (I
was born and raised in Romania and I am still fluent.) I tried reading
Romanian newspapers on the web, but I have not found anything useful.
