Why only Korean cars, their electronics are giving the Japanese a run for their money? They have been for quite some time. Their doggedness is legendary. Before the 1968 Pohang steel mill was fired, thousands of Korean steel workers practiced (mimicked) what they had to do when the blast furnaces actually started operating, running around the plant, pretending to lift things, etc. They are good industrial learners and learn from their mistakes. I recall the Hyundais were a disaster when they were first launched in the US. They returned with a vengeance.
