It has been widely noted that Apple has a different business than Google, Facebook, and others. Apple gets most of its revenue by selling its products. The others obtain most of their revenue from targeted advertising. In order to target ads, they monitor your web browsing, scan your email, and track your location. Apple does the last of these and tried to build revenue on user surveillance, but revenue remained relatively small. This is why Apple took the lead against the government.
