I do not endorse Naiman's outburst, but there is one thing about this thread that bothers me. Surely it is possible to accept that (a) the Scandinavian welfare system has many racist and exclusionary elements, and (b) the same systems still stand as living proof that socialialized health care and pension systems are not a utopian fantasy and can and do work very well. It seems to me that acknowledging (a) in no way negates (b). So I am puzzled why anyone would use Scandinacian racism as an argument against Bernie Sanders' welfare state policies.. -raghu.
