Scandinavia and the UK enjoyed a degree of security in life thanks to retirement, health, and social welfare programs since World War Two or earlier. On the other hand, racist xenophobia began to swell in Europe about 15 or 20 years ago. Robert is right about this: fusing old and new to criticize Sanders as reactionary is blatant illogic.
