So Cuban life expectancy has improved from 65 to 75-80 years in 45 years. Life
expectancy in India has improved from 35 to 65 years during 1950-2000.
Countries in East and South East Asia have performed better than India.

Ulhas,
It would probably be a lot better if you explain exactly what your
point is? So fine, India and other Asian countries have made
outstanding progress in health care in the last 50 years. So what is
your point?

We started talking about health-care statistics because of the
unsubstantiated reference by David Shemano to deficiencies in Cuba's
health care system. Cuba is not exactly Paradise on earth. I just wish
people would make more intelligent criticisms of the Cuban government,
something that would at least survive a quick google search. For
instance there is lots of press about a food shortage in Cuba and
about how Cuba is going organic by necessity:

I don't know much about this, but at least the alleged food shortage
is harder to refute than the bizarre, unsubstantiated assertions about
Cuba's health care system, a system that has been applauded
universally even by detractors of the communist government.
