Actually, I always had qualms about Jared even before he had left the planet Earth for destinations unknown. Anybody devoted every fiber of energy for providing free public relations for the Serbian government or any other foreign government on the Internet struck me as ill-advised. I tried to ground my writings on Yugoslavia in a Marxist analysis rather than the kind of apologetics that Anna Louise Strong used to provide for the USSR and then China, but that's just me, I guess. Walter Lippmann does that sort of pro bono work for Cuba and I don't appreciate it at all. Anything I write about Cuba proceeds from a class analysis rather than a misguided effort to become a cybercitizen of another country, no matter how virtuous. I am alienated but my alienation has never adopted that kind of grotesque outlet.
