As an internal developer, your users might *not* care but your boss
(their boss) probably charges you with the task of building the right
thing according to what the users (who don't care) want. If it is
actually that bad, I guess you sit at your desk and take the money as
it is dispensed.
But maybe there is some understanding and a reasonable layout of
responsibility/authority, so perhaps some productive work can be done.

Yes. That might mean translating English to TAP, but there are plenty
of options there.
