My personal observations tend to match as well... when I started in
92, it was usually unusual to have a "token woman" in the course.  As
of last year, it's still looking like 30% at most, at progressive
Silicon Valley companies, and 15% or so on the east coast.  If that's
your difference between coasts, you can say "it's double on the west
coast" :).
