(Sorry, I was traveling -- which is why I dropped out of the
discussion for a few hours) The SSL stuff is my fault. I added it
to overcome the symmetric-matrices-only problem. I may not have
tested it with larger matrices. I'll have a chance to fix this over
the long weekend.

Doug this is something that would need to be fixed before a release.
Bill could you write a test script to check in to the tests
directory? They are quite straight forward and it would be good to
give MatrixOps a work out. You already had something like that in
your report.. Also assign the bug to Doug on sourceforge.
