Hi guys,

I have selected three fonts which are, open source, sans-serif, and
look nice. I put them up on this page:

http://pdl.perl.org/images/fonts.png

The first column shows a modified font resulting from me moving the
letters around, inspired by earlier experiments from Benjamin.

There are more free sans fonts. A few were a bit too fancy, but most
were just too similar to FreeSans to offer anything new (MgOpen
Moderna, Liberation, DejaVu, Bitstream Vera). I chose FreeSans because
it is the most compact and the > lines up perfectly with the letters.

I discarded LuzSans due to uncertainty about the license, and Tuffy
was beautiful but I had some issues I could not fix.

Lastly, I did not try to emulate Futura. Futura is nice, but it is not
the only nice font. I tried to select *simple* fonts that nonetheless
look nice.

Cheers,
Daniel.
