And, therein lies the problem that Karl saw in my instructions. I
wanted the kitchen sink, so I built the kitchen sink. That made my
"custom install" instructions so complicated, which might give the
impression to others that building PDL on Macs is complicated. No, it
is not complicated, not any more than any other platform. It just
depends on where one's definition of PDL stops.

On the other hand, if one makes a simple, slimmed down SciPDL for Mac,
sooner or later someone will want that one custom module that is not a
part of SciPDL, and will have to turn to custom installation.
