So do we all - all I'm doing is volunteering to keep the Mac version updated.

No, SciPDL is better. It's PDL, not a generalized Science package for
Perl. There may be other Perl science languages that would claim they
are "Science" for "Perl". Keep PDL in the name of the package is a
sensible thing to do.

Not really. We rapidly hit Puneet's point about OS perl versus custom
Perl builds.
