At least on my Win 7 system PDL is running, neather PDL nor Windows 7 has a BUG:

An hour ago I successfully installed PDL 2.4.11 on my 64bit AMD ideapad netbook based on:
- Win 7 SP 1
- Active Perl 5.14.2 built for MSWin32-x64-multi-thread

I installed Binaries following the precedure described in
http://cpansearch.perl.org/src/CHM/PDL-2.4.8/win32/INSTALL
without any problems.

Afterwards I started some demos in pdl2 to test the installation, they worked fine.

Thanks for PDL!

Mark,

You have been on this mailing list for years and have seen useful bug reports. This was not a useful bug report.

What version of PDL were you trying to install? Was it through CPAN or from source? Did you have all the dependencies installed?

Which brand of Perl? Active Perl? Strawberry? Cygwin? Self-compiled?

Which version of Perl? 5.12? 5.14? 5.16? Bleed?

Which compiler? MS VC? Mingw? Cygwin? gcc?

Have you managed to install other XS-based modules? If so, were they based on ExtUtils::MakeMaker, Module::Build, or were both successful?

I may be able to get a copy of Windows 7 working shortly, but a few more details would go a long way in helping diagnose and solve the problem.
