We had a problem with buzzards roosting on our library....males seeing
themselves and banging on the windows scaring people inside. We decided to try
running them off with the drone and it seemed to work. Not sure if this would
work for your birds. There is always a risk of loosing an expensive drone so it
needs to be an operator that knows how to “fly away” from them pretty quickly
if they decide to try to fight you. They definitely did not like the drone and
moved on. Good luck and keep us updated. Interesting problem. JTV

Hi Adrian,

maybe an alternative is the system BIRD FREE with a kind of “fire-effect”. I
have no practical experiences with this system, but it is offered for
professional pest control companies from KILLGERM longer time.
See https://www.ornitec.de/produkte/bird-free-gel/

Other alternative could be “Laser technology” but it probably bring the same
problems with the neighborhood as sound systems: See
https://pps-vertrieb.de/agrilaserr-autonomic.html or
https://pps-vertrieb.de/vogelabwehr/cat-lasertechnologie_222.html

Betreff: [PestList] Bird scarers

Hi folks
Since Covid, we are having serious problems with seagulls and pigeons settling
on the Great Court glass roof (see image of aerial view) and making a hell of a
mess. It has been suggested that the birds see it as a ‘lake’ and we have never
had success with things like shock systems or brining a hawk around the site
Our pest control company has recommended high frequency acoustic scarers
I don’t have any experience of them so have any of you used them and is it
worth the investment?
Many thanks
Adie
