Consider looking at what’s on the market or. There are low-tack adhesives out there. The Met’s tries to list the adhesion to steel on the AIC’s Oddy Testing Wiki (online) for tests we’ve published there. I wonder if some of the ‘transfer tapes’ would be low tack enough to be removable but also tacky enough to catch bugs. They can have different tack on the two sides.
The earlier suggestion for using painter’s tape was a good one. We do this sometimes when mounting sensors to the walls for temporary exhibitions – using a very high bonding double sided adhesive on top of the painters tape. We use painter’s tape on the floor before adding tactile tape as “barriers” in front of paintings. ThE use of the painter’s tape prevents ruining the finish on our limestone floors.
