Lacey, Is that a product that is allowed for use in Texas. Most fumigants are prohibited by law for human health reasons. In addition they must be applied by a licensed Pest control manager. A couple of questions:
1. After freezing, heating or anoxic treatments do you increase your housekeeping activities. Have you thoroughly cleaned (removed all frass and dead insects) from both the specimens and the area that they are displayed in. 2. Can you remove the specimens from the open dioramas? 3. Do you regularly maintain (clean and examine the specimens? 4. Do you know where the source of the infestation is? These are a couple of the actions that need to be taken in a successful IPM. Unfortunately, I have looked into all alternative treatments extensively and due to various constraints, fumigation is the only option. We do employ alternatives such as freezing when possible, but sometimes we do have to resort to fumigation. Currently, we are using PT 565 Plus XLO Aerosol Insecticide.
