I think I'm the only one who's made any commercial comment (and I did
try to keep it minimal). Solwise have come up a couple of times as they
are one of the main suppliers of this hardware, but as far as I know
nobody here has any commercial interest in them (they're based in Hull
so not local).

There are differences between the manufacturers, although the standard
is common between them and devices interoperate. Regardless of whether
someone sources them from me, I would recommend them over the Netgear
and other options. (Note that EOP isn't new; we've been using it for
years and the AV standard is also some years old. I'm not sure why it
has suddenly caught on with the box-shift manufacturers like Netgear
jumping onto the bandwagon, I guess because the wireless standards
they'd followed previously have at least as many weaknesses as strengths?)

There was a good review in one of the PC rags (PC Pro?) a year or so ago
which was pretty favourable of the Solwise versions for doing best
outside "ideal" conditions. I think the review is available on the
Solwise site. The distinction between products from different
manufacturers is a valid one to make, as is the comment about "cheap
imports" not meeting noise standards.

If anything I said caused offence to anyone I apologise.
