PLUG do not have a "leader" but they do have a list admin, and it's me,
and with it comes some responsibilities.

I need to remind people here that personal attacks are not called for,
and there have been a couple of posts heading in that direction
recently, and long standing members will recall how little things have
grown out of all proportion in the past.

Some things to remember:
- We don't all have the same views, but we should all be able to co-exist.
- We don't all necessarily speak English as a first language, and some
people will have other difficulties (eg dyslexia, blindness resulting in
use of a screen reader to use the list, etc).
- We are all individuals, but it's very easy to get the impression that
the list or the LUG has a personality of its own (which they do not and
cannot have).

Please can everyone take a breath and decide whether they want to be
part of the LUG and its mailing list. Those that do, can we please focus
on working out what we want from the LUG and how to achieve it - Linux
should be able to deliver something for everyone and PLUG should be
there to help it achieve that.

Suggestions for how to improve the LUG, where to meet, what to do when
we meet, and so on, are all welcome.

Personal attacks will not be tolerated and if that means I need to act
as censor to remove people from the list then I can and will do that. (I
do not read or moderate messages before they reach the list, nor have I
plans to.)

None of the above is aimed at anyone in particular, and I am more than
happy to talk to anyone on- or off-list about it.
