Let me quote myself here, in an attempt to exemplify how a wrong choice
of words can change history. I should have thought more before writing
than bad isp over there. It was meant more as a prop-word than any sort
of criticism. That being said:

I have read with great interest all the emails, and it seems that both
opinions have pros and cons. However, I have a range of fixed ip
addresses here. Finally, there is no choice but to relay to isps mail
server. Fine, but I would still have preferred doing it directly. When
starting this project I did not receive administrative documentation
(the one of isp included in this lack of paperwork), so that I had no
insight into their policy. Of course, if it be such, I mean no harm at
all. Let me also stress here, that I do agree with ISPs trying to reduce the spam
manice somehow. On the other hand, what my company does is our own business, and I see
no place for other people mingling with our emails. It just leaves a terrible sense of
using the Internet as a toy when you are not allowed to organize your communication
the way you want. I realize, of course, that we would have much more to to in order to
secure our servers, in order to fight spam ourselves - but let us presume that we are
willing to do that. Oh, for fear of being wrongly interpreted: if you sell a thing
called Internet Access for Companies, then you also must presume some of those
companies might want to control their own life. I guess it boils down to this: the
phone company sells you several phone numbers, but you cannot call your business
partner directly, because there are too many agents out there trying to sell all sorts
of things who constantly bother other phone owners with their calls. However, my
business is my own concern, and I simply do not want Misses Operator to listen to each
and every conversation that I make.

I apologize for accidentaly provoking a debate that does not genuinely
belong to pf mailing list. And I really appreciate your opinions.

With best regards,
Predrag
