Just a quick observation about the updates.

First during the past two years ive seen some good and some bad releases. Both
.0 i had were quite a bit buggy, but nm, we had updates coming in and that's
great. For the enterprise the situation may be different, and since i dont know
zit about it ill keep quiet ( yes a wise move ) But for the home computer i
dont mind a one year life cycle at all.

Things do move quick in our world and way within the one year period
generally with each release things have changed so much that to stay with
an older distro dosen't make much sense.
As long as the updates are made available for a year after the release
i beleive this is quite reasonable. After all when it's obsolete, it's obsolete
and we should move to the newer distro.Whatever the update scheme we choose
up2date or through an apt repository, ftp etc.. As long as the packages
are there it is not that difficult for the average Joe Bear to keep the
system secure and up to date.
Many packs will within the year will be completely replaced by users with
newer versions available on the net, which also is to be considered.
ex kernel Syplheed Galeon Mozilla etc.

All in all,as a home user,i dont mind the one year life cycle.

This time again i will get 9 ( the .0 though infamous dosent scare this bear )
install it and have fun computing... errr hopefully ; )
